Who are you? / ¿Quién eres?
Natalia Castañeda Arbelaez. Painter, thats what i wrote in my calling cards when i was 12 years old.
Now I love to lie down on the grass to watch the clouds,
I love to cross bridges and see the river flow beneath me./

Ahora me gusta acostarme en el pasto para ver las nubes, me gusta atravesar puentes y ver el río
pasar debajo de mí.


What's your work about? / ¿De qué se trata tu obra?
It's an attempt of cartography, about reflections of read stories, of common territories,
of personal atmospheres, about the simple contemplation of a landscape, a disinterested glance of the horizon and the recognition of the inhabited place. It's a matter of memory, repetition and transformation, instability and appearance, between painting and drawing aspiring to become sculpture./
Es un intento de cartografía, de reflejos de historias leídas, de territorios comunes,
de atmósferas personales, entre la simple contemplación del paisaje, en una mirada desinteresada al horizonte
perdido y el reconocimiento al lugar habitado (identitario). Es una cuestión de memoria, de repetición y transformación, de
inestabilidad y apariencia, entre la pintura y el dibujo, aspirando ser escultura.


How do you do it? / ¿Cómo lo haces?
I'm not sure, but i love to be lost in the lines, to look for routes,
read maps, spend time between the color and the eternity of the image,
look for the blue of the sky in the sea, and the sea in the sky./
No estoy segura, pero me gusta perderme en las líneas, buscar rutas,
leer mapas, pasar el tiempo entre el color y la eternidad de la imagen,
buscar el azul del cielo en el mar y el mar en el cielo.
Why do you do it? / ¿Por qué lo haces?
Because it is necessary, it's a compromise and I enjoy it.
My memory is fragile and words seem foreign to me, for pure contemplation and an expressive need,
I search for poetry, I demonstrate my "passer-by" state in harmony with the landscape.
Because i always keep the hope./
Porque es necesario, es un compromiso y una dicha.
Mi memoria es frágil y las palabras me parecen ajenas, por pura contemplación y por necesidad de expresión,
en busca de poesía, evidencio mi estado transeúnte en armonía con el paisaje.
Porque siempre guardo la esperanza.
